There’s a joyful exuberance in this song, and lots of opportunities for story-telling too. The introduction sets a mysterious tone, and this can be enhanced by encouraging the choir to whisper to each other with increasing intensity, until they erupt into song with the first proper vocal entry.

There are lots of moments where key lyrics can really be brought to life, such as “A voice as big as the sea”, “In your palace warm”, “A child shivers in the cold”. A couple of phrases need really crisp cut-offs, particularly “silver” in bar 68 and “goodness” in bar 93.
